Minetest 5.5.0 has rolled out, with a swap over from Irrlicht to their own fork of the rendering engine IrrlichtMt designed to have particular enhancements just for Minetest. What is Minetest? It's an open source voxel sport engine, that can be modded into many different games - like Minecraft.

There's quite a variety of modifications other than the rendering tech changing. Here's some highlights:

- Improved TTF font support- Touch UI assist for desktop builds- Joystick sensitivity for player movement- Hyperlinks clickable in chat, disabled by default- Normal texture help (for minimap shading)- Pause animations while sport is paused- Handle modpacks containing modpacks correctly in the content downloader- Tons of recent additions for modders- Efficiency improvements and bug fixes- Add a key to toggle show map block boundaries (F8 by default)
