The Global Takeover Of Minecraft Earth Beta Starts This Month

It's been about two months since we first heard about Minecraft Earth, the augmented reality version of Mojang's game that gives the real world a playscape packed with your blocksy creations. The company said that a beta version of the game would be out in the summer. The game is now available, and with a brand new trailer for the game, the company claims it will be available on iOS in the next two weeks. Android will follow "soon thereafter."



After seeing live gameplay during WWDC last month, the announcement of iOS-first isn't a surprise. While this new trailer has a lot of info on the game's gameplay, interested players may wish to go back to the Apple demo to get a better feel for what it will be like to play in a virtual Minecraft world with their friends that overlays the real world.



You will need to sign up here for the game for free. According to the FAQ, your device must be running iOS 10 or Android 7. Access is restricted as they build load on the game's servers but you'll need to be active in the game. If you don't play for a period of seven days, then someone else will take your slot. To sign up, you'll require an Microsoft or Xbox Live account. Once you've registered and have a password, you are left with nothing more than waiting and building. games
