Regular readers of the location know that the upper management is being shifted around here at Massively, which means that Brianna Royce will now be in charge. Whereas we'll always miss Shawn Schuster's unmistakable voice and work on the positioning, the change will likely appear invisible to most readers.

I, for one, want to welcome our new overlord, for whom I don't have anything however respect and admiration. By complete coincidence, this week's header picture happens to be of her favourite animal. Additionally, I could have sent various present baskets of fruit to her house. And I'm positive we can all agree that earlier cases of tomfoolery shouldn't be taken into consideration when she now considers that she has complete energy over me.

Shifting on from the welcoming of overlords, it's time for this week's installment of WRUP, that includes the Massively workers explaining our plans for the weekend as well as whether or not a graphical improve would bring us again to our first MMOs. Try our plans past the break, and let us know what you may be up to in the comments!

@Beau_Hindman: I'll be settling down on a new deed in Wurm Online, persevering with to grind my teeth as I wait for my new Pc to get right here, and placing my exploration cash where my mouth is by finally downloading IMVU. It is a social MMO that appears very... totally different. I'm also nonetheless gathering my listing of pre-World of Warcraft MMOs for protection. Luckily I nonetheless have most of my old accounts!

If I updated any graphics for a few of my favourite video games, that may mean a downgrade for many of them. I want graphics which might be more stylized, significantly like those in Free Realms or Clone Wars Adventures. I might love to see a "critical" sport done with a more stylized aptitude. Wurm Online can keep how it is, but I really want to see some new avatars. I know they're coming, however boy, I am unable to wait!

@nyphur: This weekend I will be entertaining a visiting Swedish buddy from my old World of Warcraft guild, working hard on Predestination, and trying to persuade my housemates to play extra Guild Wars 2!

My first MMO was RuneScape, and its graphical updates have truly introduced me back several times. I began back when it was a blocky world with 2-D goblin sprites, and the first huge 3-D replace hooked me again in for several months. I've returned periodically to see what the sport is like, and the graphics are undoubtedly the first thing I look for. EVE On-line has the identical effect, with massive graphical updates pulling folks again in to try the game again.

@nbrianna: I'll be dividing my sport time between Guild Wars 2 and Metropolis of Heroes. Double XP is on completely in CoH, I hear, so it's the proper time to roll up a brand new character in time for the Positron's Ally occasion next week.

My first MMO was Ultima On-line, and graphical upgrades did carry me again many instances. That recreation has had more improved clients than any MMO I do know... but these upgraded purchasers normally get abandoned by the crew earlier than they're finished as a result of most of the veterans just refuse to change. Very irritating!

@Eliot_Lefebvre: City of Heroes, Star Wars: The Previous Republic, and the ever-popular Providing Assist to a Liked One with a Cold. At some point I will actually play Guild Wars 2 for more than 10 minutes at a stretch. If I am lucky, will probably be earlier than the top of the decade.

I am actually the flawed person to ask about returning to a game for a graphical upgrade as a result of graphics have by no means been what's turned me off from a recreation. I did not initially depart Final Fantasy XI because of the graphics; I left because the game wasn't actually enjoyable to play. If I see signs that the game I did not like X amount of time ago has gotten better, I'll come operating proper back, however placing a new coat of paint on a game I wasn't enjoying does not lure me again.

@elixabethclaire: The secret World continues to be on pause for me as I dedicate my time to Guild Wars 2. I'd like to hit eighty by the center of the upcoming week, so I'll be doing numerous PvE and WvW this weekend. I did not mean to, but I've obtained an entire agenda plotted out for my momentary "fundamental" after she hits 80, not to say a little roster of who's in need of leveling after her.

Not much gaming for me this weekend. Perhaps some The key World.

I go back and play all of my previous MMOs anyway regardless of updates, though I'm very a lot trying forward to Anarchy Online's eventual reskin.

@Sypster: My MMO to do record is a mile wide at this point. I really need to put a cap on Volume III Guide 6 in Lord of the Rings Online, check out the brand new Autumn Festival in RIFT, get by way of Egypt in The key World, and make the large bucks in Guild Wars 2.

As for graphical upgrades, nicely, if Anarchy On-line ever will get that newfangled redux off the ground, then you possibly can guess I will be first in line. It'd be great to see what a barely extra updated AO would appear to be.

@JayeRnH: This weekend I'm busy with a family journey, however in any spare time I have, I'm going to log into RIFT and dangle out next to Atrophinius in the Autumn occasion just to hear his hilarious voice-overs. Other than that, I will probably pop into Minecraft with the kids so we can work on our tree house.

My first MMO was EverQuest, and I might be extra likely to return if the sport really reverted back to the outdated graphics of avatars and revamped zones.

@mvmatt: This weekend is my roommate's birthday, so we've received some mutual pals coming to stay for the weekend. Because of this, my gaming time might be going to be occupied extra by split-display screen mayhem than MMO funtimes. But when the opportunity arises, I will be splitting my time between The key World and Guild Wars 2.

And would I return to EverQuest or Ultima On-line if either one obtained a graphical update? That's a superb query. I need to say yes, but I don't know if I'd be telling the reality. I beloved UO and EQ back in the day, but I believe it would take a bit greater than a graphical upgrade to make me a player again. For each charmingly dated characteristic that I fondly remember, there's a plethora of truly archaic design decisions that I don't assume I'd be in a position to place up with.

@MJ_Guthrie: Oh my gosh! I get to sport this weekend!! *almost faints with excitement* How much can I cram in? Let's see, the vote will not be in for Choose my Journey, so The key World will likely be on hold till Monday. (By the way, go vote!). To fill my weekend, I'm going to dive into GW2 more (I actually need to check out an Asura), start plotting more for my EverQuest II community purchasing district as well as take in a few dungeons, and spread my wings in Aion to complete up some quests and perhaps even get a number of rounds of PvP Arenas in. I also plan on consuming pizza. Mmm.

I might return in the event that they'd turn the blasted servers back on! (RIP Star Wars Galaxies.)

@mackeypb: I've been taking part in extra Touhou Hisoutensoku (not that any of you realize what that's), as well as League of Legends. This that or the other I'm presently carrying as Graves, though I am pretty sure these studying my column already know that. It feels good to play extra airdash fighters, though; I feel like a bit of a void has been filled in my gamer heart.

In order for me to return to EQ, it will take a better sport, not a graphical replace. Really, graphical updates mean nearly nothing to me. If the same EQ graphics as in 2000 had been on prime of the GW2 engine, I'd still be down for playing it. Excessive-high quality graphics are a bonus, not a necessity.

@terilynns: I will likely be leaping into Star Trek Online this weekend to play a number of Foundry missions to discuss on my UGC podcast. I will even be in Lord of the Rings Online as I discover it very enjoyable to farm and craft in that game. If time allows, I might be again in Glitch as effectively. And sure, the rumors are true: Some people are twisting my arm to offer Guild Wars 2 a attempt. I would pick it up this weekend.

I am really glad this week's query would not apply to me. My first MMO is still my favorite, and it's a good looking game -- Star Trek Online!

Firstly of every weekend, we meet up with the Massively employees members and ask them, "What are you taking part in this week?" (Otherwise referred to as: WRUP!) Be part of us to see what we're as much as in and out of game -- and catch us in the feedback to let us know what you're playing, too!
